The “Black National Anthem” was sung during the Michigan Electoral College proceedings — following the actual national anthem.

The song is called “Lift Every Voice and Sing” and was dubbed the “Negro National Anthem” by the NAACP in 1919.

“Please remain standing for the National Anthem — and the Black National Anthem…”  they announced before having two women sing the song.

The affront to the National Anthem came as Democrats used armed police to prevent Republican electors from entering the State Capitol.

Absolutely bizarre.
